# NLBRA FAQ

**Rodeo Setup**

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I set all my Rodeos as live?</strong></summary>

Yes, but you cannot accept entries more than 30 days prior to the rodeo. To adjust this go to Settings > General > Public Experience and update the Entry Closing Date.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>If I am the franchise secretary for multiple franchises, can I copy the rodeo from one franchise to another?</strong></summary>

Not currently, but this has been added as a future item to the development teams enhancement list.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How do I set up my rodeos if I am running two rodeos but all my rough stock events will take place on one day?</strong></summary>

If you are running all of your rough stock events in one day then we suggest setting those at the end of the first Rodeo and adding a custom note before them stating when they will take place. For the second rodeo, in the Arena where those will take place use the ' + Event' option again and add those details into the Arena Schedule where the events will take place.

</details>

## **Draw Order**

<details>

<summary><strong>If they are generating a random draw in Horse Spot - does this eliminate the need for a judge to be present for the draw?</strong></summary>

The order draw, along with the stock draw that should still follow the [NLBRA Rulebook](https://www.nlbra.com/p/membership1/rule-book).

</details>

## **Contestant Entries**

<details>

<summary><strong>Will contestants only be able to view events that they are eligible to enter?</strong></summary>

Not yet, but this is a feature that is coming.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>If a contestant is entering a team event and doesn't have a partner, how are their partners determined?</strong></summary>

If a contestant does not have a partner who is entering the Rodeo, then they can opt to have the show secretary assign a helper draw partner. This is an option when entering any of the team events in the online entry process.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How do I handle non-refundable fees that I want contestants to pay for, but I don’t want them to be included in the add-back.</strong></summary>

Horse Spot recommends creating Rodeo Fees for these. Since the Add Back is based on the contestants entered in the Go-Round, you will want to remove them from that event if the collected fees *should not* be included in the add-back. Instead bill these fees on a single line item on the billing screen.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Is there a way to only charge Stalls/RV Spaces/etc. for the weekend if hosting multiple rodeos?</strong></summary>

This item is currently in development and needs some fine tuning prior to being released to secretaries. For the time being, Horse Spot’s recommendation would be to only bill Stalls/RV Spaces/etc. in the first rodeo of that weekend.

</details>

## **Results**

<details>

<summary><strong>What is the process for submitting results to the NLBRA National Office?</strong></summary>

The process for submitting results will remain the same, you should still scan and email or mail your results to the National office to be audited as you did before.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Am I able to track Series points for the multiple rodeos that I have in a weekend?</strong></summary>

Yes, Series Points for multiple Rodeos will calculate based on all around points.&#x20;

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Are non-sanctioned events included in the All-Around points for my rodeo?</strong></summary>

No, unsanctioned events are automatically excluded from the all-around points.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>If a contestant is flagged as 3-Call in results will it remove them from the bonus points?</strong></summary>

Per the rulebook, 3-Call = DQ from the event, so no placing = no bonus points.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>All Around Tie Breaker set up? Were the NLBRA rules taken into consideration?</strong></summary>

Yes

</details>

## **Reports**

<details>

<summary><strong>Can we offer the Day Sheet in JPEG format for Franchise Secretaries that want to be able to share the Day Sheet on their Social Media?</strong></summary>

This is not something that is currently on the product roadmap. We can take a look at future integrations for easy exports that can be shared on social media.&#x20;

</details>

## **Helpers for Team Events**

<details>

<summary><strong>We understand that a contestant can run twice to fill in as the draw partner for the contestant without a partner.</strong></summary>

In the event, all people are paired up, there is an option for a “helper”. The helper is the person who is already entered. They need to help in the position that they are already entered in (i.e. if they are entered as a roper, then they must help as a roper).

I.E. Another header could help a heeler who needed a partner and via versa.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Who is responsible for paying the stock fee when a contestant requests a helper? Is the draw partner filling in responsible for entry fees?</strong></summary>

If the helper wants to be a part of the jackpot then they must pay the entry and stock fees - by doing so they would be eligible for jackpot money winnings only. If the helper does not want to enter for jackpot winnings, then it is up to the discretion of the franchise on whether or not to charge the stock fee and entry fee to the partner.

**Horse Spot’s Recommendations:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Transfer fees&#x20;

Transfer the amount that the helper would pay for over to the partner who is responsible for paying these fees.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Create a rodeo fee&#x20;

Call it called “Helper Fee Transfer” or something similar. Use this fee on the billing screen to complete these transfers.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>When sending in results, if there is a Helper, are we to include the Helper name on the Results?</strong></summary>

No, per the National Office leave this blank or just write in Helper.

</details>

## **Misc**

<details>

<summary><strong>Will there be a link on the NLBRA National Website guiding contestants to Horse Spot to enter rodeos?</strong></summary>

Yes. Contestants can also go to [horsespot.com](https://horsespot.net/) and search for any rodeo they are looking for.  If they navigate to the filter called "Organization" and search for "NLBRA" Horse Spot will display all rodeos that fall under NLBRA. Contestants can further use the other filters to narrow their search down by State.&#x20;

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>For franchises that pay for their associates member fees - are they still able to submit paper membership forms with their packet that they are mailing to the national office after the rodeo?</strong> </summary>

No, NLBRA would prefer they utilize the Horse Spot online membership system.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can we update the logo from the National Logo to our Franchise Logo on our tenant site?</strong></summary>

We prefer that the National Logo remains on your franchise tenant site and that it will be printed on your Day Sheets. The Horse Spot team is collaborating on a spot where the franchise can choose to upload their unique logo.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.horsespot.com/nlbra/nlbra-secretaries/nlbra-faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
